The Town of Bourne is the gateway to Cape Cod. You have to pass through the town to get over the Cape Cod Canal and to anywhere else on the Cape. The Cape Cod canal bisects the community, with both the Bourne and the Sagamore Bridges, as well as the Buzzards Bay Railroad Bridge, being the only means to cross the Canal, unless you're traveling by boat of course.
The Canal is world renowned for it's sport fishing, scenic vistas, relaxing bike rides and walking routes. And for carrying vessels of all sizes, flying the flags of all nations. The Ships and Tug Boats that move along the Canal are a sight to see.
